Bali Vegan Food Guide
Bali vegan food guide
During the months October to Januari I was lucky enough to spend my days on the beautiful island Bali in Indonesia. I knew that there would be a lot of colourful vegan food, thanks to Instagram. But I was still in chock when I saw the food with my own eyes and tasted it! The vegan food on Bali is on another level, it is amazing and deserves a vegan food guide.
In this blogpost I’m going to write about the food places in Bali that were some of my favourites. Some is entirely vegan, some are vegetarian and some are omnivore restaurants but they all serve vegan food. I mostly spent my time in Canggu and Seminyak, therefore I'm only going to review places in these areas. Sadly one of my favourite cafes are closing down right now, the Spicy Coconut, therefore I will not review that one.
These food places are only a FEW that we loved because we did not bring the camera to all places. These reviews are not in chronological order because I cannot decide which I like the most!
1. Matcha Café
This green café loves matcha! And so do I. The cafe is based in Berawa on the side of the road with views over the incredible rice field. The Matcha cafe is not entirely vegan but they do serve a lot of vegan food. The owner is super friendly and really love making connections with the cafe's customers. They recently upgraded their menu and the best part is that they incorporated more vegan food! @matchacafebali
2. Kynd Community
The Kynd Community cafe is located in Seminyak and you won’t miss it passing by all the people shooting against the famous pink wall. This really is a vegan paradise, not only because all of their food is vegan, they also work so hard on how their food is presented. When I’m talking about vegan paradise I mean fluffy vegan pancakes covered in oreos, smooth coconut ice cream, with a pink fluffy cloud on top, finished of with a pink sauce drizzled over. Sadly I did not get a picture on this dish but down below you see dishes that were as delicious! Did I mention that the cafe is entirely vegan? @kyndcommunity
3. Bali Bowls and Smoothies
This little gem is located in Berawa, not entierly vegan but they do serve a lot of vegan options. I love their seating area upstairs where you can look over endless typical Bali-rooftops and beautiful rice paddies. One downside was the size of the portions, me and babe are big eaters and did not get satisfied on only one dish. But that did not change the fact that it was delicious! @balibowlsandsmoothies
4. Peloton Supershop
The Peloton Supershop is an entirely plant based vegan restaurant. This restaurant is also located in Berawa in a quite busy place, but please do not skip this one! They serve amazing food, everything from nachos covered in vegan cheese to one of the best vegan burgers I have ever had. The people who work there are so nice and you always feel more than welcome. If you come here, try the Ms Jackson Tacos! @pelotonsupershop
5. La Baracca Bali
Do you love pizza? Then this is the place to be! The La Baracca is not entirely vegan but they do serve vegan pizzas with, lo and behold, homemade vegan cheese! They are super friendly and can make almost any pizza into a vegan pizza. This restaurant is very popular and has two locations, one in Canggu and one in Kerobokan. If you ever come to one of the La Baracca's locations I highly recommend you to try the BOMBA Pizza! @labaraccabali
6. Coffee Cartel Bali
This cafe located in Seminyak opened up its doors in 2017 and is already kicking it! They serve a lot of vegan food but also non vegan food. This is also one of the most creative cafes that works a lot on how their food is presented. They have the same favourite color as me - pink! Need I say more? @coffeecartelbali
7. The Shady Shack
The Shady shack is located in Canggu, next to La Barack actually. It is a super cosy (and busy) place to hang out on. They also have some pretty damn good vegan food! Unfortunately they are not entirely vegan, they are vegetarian but serve a lot of vegan food. I think they have one of the best smoothie bowls and if you come here, try the vegan cheese burger! @theshadyshack
